Grandmaster Caz sat down with VladTV and spoke on his connection to recently deceased member of the Sugar Hill Gang, Big Bank Hank, saying as his manager, Hank took credit for his rhymes that ended up on the now legendary track, "Rapper's Delight."
Caz claims Hank, as his manager, had a copy of a tape of rhymes he'd written, and listened to it regularly. Hank was rhyming the lines one day in a pizza shop when Sugar Hill Records founder Sylvia Robinson walked in and heard the bars, asking if he'd like to audition to be in the rap group "Sugar Hill Gang." Instead of giving Caz credit, he repeated his rhymes and won a spot in the group. Caz continues to claim that he wrote pretty much every word of Hank's verse on the Hip Hop classic, "Rapper's Delight." He also admits he didn't like the record when he first heard it.
Once the song became a hit, Caz admits he felt jerked that Hank got so many opportunities based on the lyrics he'd written. Check out the interview below.

Grandmaster Beamz DJ Fail (Summarized)
I first got exposed to Beamz and it's so called "legendary DJ" endorser a few days ago. After watching the initial demo of the Beamz DJ device I had to try to figure what in the DJ world was going on here. Although I quickly found out that the device is actually real (flo ride informercial, it's sold on ebay) it took me a few hours to find out who the endorsor, Grandmaster Jay, really was. At first his youtube and wikipedia page was filled with obscure Hip Hop information that only a hiphopa would know so it made me wonder if this character was real? is this dude a liar? or is this all a big joke? I found out that this Beamz/Grand master Jay episode was part real, part fake, part sad and part funny as shit. After a few hours of research online I went back to re-read his fake wikipedia page but thanks to the help of DJ Jazzy Jeff exposing him around the same time, when I came back to his wiki page it was nearly wiped free (it's back with an abundance of career highlight 11/3/13).
I decided to compile a bunch of videos and material in order to create what has become this video. Initially I put this together for my high school DJ class, I thought it would a good way to address what hard work yields as opposed to taking the 15 minutes of route. I did not plan on putting it on youtube because I did not want to add to "grandmaster jay's" legacy. However, I believe that this video will inform anyone curious about "Beamz/Grandmaster Jay" in 10 minutes or less. You won't have to do hours of research that I had to do in order to find peace of mind.
For the record I am not taking this too serious. If this is a joke (it's pretty hilarious) I believe this fraud took it too far. First, by not only biting a routine but also letting the names of legends come out of his mouth. I hope this makes you think about what is real versus what is fake. I also hope this makes you question the next arrogant superstar.

Welcome to Hell... In Norway
Hell is a quaint little village in Norway that's the resting place of 1,600 souls. There are red-roofed houses, a post office, a grocery store, even a church. It literally freezes over during the winter, which is yet another example of why its pun-friendly name draws tourists throughout the year. Weirdly enough, hell means "luck" in Norwegian, but the locals play up their association with the netherworld. When you pull into the train station, there's a sign that reads HELL GODS -- EXPEDITION, and the town's most famous native, Mona Grudt, who won the 1990 Miss Universe beauty pageant, proudly called herself "the beauty queen from Hell."
Then there's the annual Blues in Hell Festival, which was founded by Kjell Inge Brovoll, better known as "Hell Boss." This year, the festival brought a host of legendary American blues singers to the peaceful village, including Sugar Pie DeSanto, who is best described as a more unhinged and modern version of her late duet partner and childhood friend, Etta James.
Sugar Pie was my ticket to Hell. I first saw the 78-year-old, 4'11" spitfire on New Year's Eve 2012—she hopped on the stage, kicked off her stiletto heels, and gyrated with the intensity of a woman 55 years her junior.
When I asked if I could take some photos of Sugar Pie, her manager asked me to accompany them to Detroit, where she played Aretha Franklin's Christmas party. A year later, I got offered the chance to go to Hell with Sugar Pie. How could I have said anything other than "Hell, yes"?
