Up and coming "Try Me" rapper Dej Loaf sat down with VladTV correspondent Jenny Boom Boom and briefly discussed growing up in Detroit, losing her father at a young age and how "Try Me" blew up after a few strokes of bad luck.
Dej reveals that she grew up in a single parent home with her two brothers, raised by their mother after their father was murdered in the projects where they lived at the time. She says she greatly admires her mother who is one of the strongest people she knows and is her number one fan who's always supported her career ambitions.
The Detroit native also spoke of working as a cleaner for Chrysler corporate offices, saying the last straw for her was scrubbing floors with a toothbrush. She then quit that job and began taking music seriously, without making much progress initially. She debated getting back to the job market, but instead recorded
"Try Me" and shared it on Soundcloud. The track immediately spread and now has labels bidding for the young star.

Joell Ortiz: Bobby Shmurda | Showing The Real NYC
Joell Ortiz chopped it up with VladTV correspondent Jenny Boom Boom and shared his love for Bobby Shmurda, mainly because he feels Shmurda's video, "Hot N****" showed the real daily life of a kid from Flatbush.
When Jenny compares Ortiz's group Slaughterhouse to Yonkers spitters The Lox, Ortiz can see the similarities, and says he loves running into to those guys because they are genuinely great people that he can talk to about real life situations.
Ortiz is then asked who his favorite female rapper was coming up, and he responds with Lauryn Hill, saying she was rhyming just as well as her male counterparts in an era where everyone had skills.

Lil Debbie Cool w/ Nicki's "Ratchet" Anaconda Cover
Lil Debbie shares her thoughts on Nicki Minaj's Anaconda cover, and while the Cali rapper feels the artwork is "ratchet," she admits that Nicki has a "fat a**." Lil Debbie says Nicki can do whatever she wants to at this point, and delves into a story about how much she loves the Queens femcee.
The Queen D rapper says that she used to post photos of Nicki on her Facebook about five years ago, but her followers always hated on them and said that Ms. Minaj was never going to be anything. Debbie elaborates, recalling that she would post a photo of the "Bees In The Trap" rapper wearing just a simple jeans and t-shirt, and her fans would respond by calling Nicki a "tranny."
Debbie speaks more on the situation by pointing out that it's funny what the media will choose to accept and what they won't. She also speaks about how Nicki has made sex sell, but adds that the YMCMB rapper has worked hard to earn her spot.

Lil Durk Speaks on Tense Club Face-off w/ Game
Lil Durk chopped it up with VladTV recently about the tense face-off between him and Game inside of an L.A. nightclub that luckily didn't erupt in violence.
Durk detailed how there was tension in the air between the two crews, and they just decided to meet in the middle of the club and see where things would go. He chalked it up to "street politics," which eventually led to the two star rappers squashing their issues with one another over the phone later on.
Durk continued to discuss the ongoing violence that plagues the Chicago streets, and while Durk did acknowledge that things are still out of control in certain areas, the city is still a great place to be depending on what part you're in.

Common Compares Chicago of the '80s & '90s to Today
Veteran MC and Chicago's own Common sat down with VladTV to discuss his 10th album, "Nobody's Smiling," the meaning behind its title, and the difference between the Chicago of his youth and Chiraq today.
When it's comes to dropping his 10th album, Common says it feels good to be able to have that many albums under his belt, but that he doesn't get caught up in how many albums he's dropped because he knows you're only as good as your last cut. He's more excited about the new project than anything else.
The album in question, "Nobody's Smiling," is about Chicago's increasingly violent nature and the need for it to be addressed. When reminded of Chicago rapper and Chief Keef's cousin Big Glo's murder back in April, Common says that's the reason he made this album.
"I'm not happy, I'm from Chicago. I'm not happy we losing people over...people getting shot over things that ain't even necessary. I can't even act like i know every situation, why it happens, but some of it...it's become part of...a way of life. People don't value life as much as we can, as much as we should."
When asked about the state of Chicago today vs. Chicago of the late '80s and '90s when he was coming up, he says he feels it's worse now. Also, he quotes a statistic saying the murder rate was higher in his era, but the order and street code of the hood no longer exists, citing the fact that kids as young as 3 years old are being shot and killed as an example.

SD Says "Life of a Savage" Is Based on Chicago Life
SD of GBE spoke about the third installment of his Life of a Savage mixtape series in this clip from his exclusive interview with VladTV. He explained that the mixtape is based off of the rough lifestyle that he is accustomed to in Chicago. When asked about his views on what a savage really is, SD stated that a savage in his eyes is an animal, or a man who doesn't care about anything and is willing to do anything.
He went on to detail some of the songs he has on the mixtape with Young Chop, and how he's never really put any thought into signing to a particular label outside of GBE.

Big T Talks Chief Keef & Chicago Violence
Chicago native Big T came to out VladTV headquarters and sat down with our battle rap journalist Michael Hughes for an exclusive interview. Being that he is from the mean streets of Chi-Town, T was questioned about the violence he experienced growing up, and still sees in his neighborhood presently.
He was asked about how he thinks Cheif Keef could maintain his fame and remain in the spotlight without letting his street ties get the best of him. Big T reminisced on his own struggles and how he used battle rap as a way out of the everyday hood life. He thought back to times where he started out having to carry weapons to his battles for safety reasons, and how he's now rapping in front of large crowds for good money all-the-while increasing his level of fame worldwide.
