The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.

DJ Ferno arrives costume ready and in full character for Halloween in Dubai. After only a few hours in the city of gold, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the team head to Amsterdam where Dayne Jordan goes on a "mini-munchie" food tour. In Barcelona, DJ Jazzy Jeff catches up with DJ Just Dizle and Philadelphia's own Killiam Shakespeare for a late night performance.

10 Do Overs 10 Cities | Vinyl Destination
Still on a high from the Shambhala Festival, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Vinyl Destination crew head to Portland where the energy continues! The Do-Over celebrates their 10th anniversary with ten simultaneous parties in cities around the world, including Portland where Jeff is the surprise guest. Before hitting the road, Dayne Jordan and DJ Ferno play a game of “Whodunit” with some suspicious smells. As always, the vibe at the Do-Over is electric. Jeff is especially pleased to see Playlist Retreat alum Sosupersam rocking the party. Post-show, Dayne gets a little choked up after receiving an amazing gift made especially for him.
It seems things can’t get any better for the Vinyl Destination crew. But wait…THERE’S MORE. Next up is San Bernardino, California for the Nocturnal Wonderland Festival, and Jeff and the guys discover the festival definitely lives up to it’s name. Unseasonably cool temperatures and dust filled air are no match for a crowd entranced by DJ Jazzy Jeff’s killer set. Then the guys brush the dirt off their sneakers and head to Seoul, Korea. After a long journey, the first order of business is refueling the hungry crew, which is easier said than done in the wee hours of the morning. It turns out, hunger pangs are the least of their worries when a mysterious smell emerges from DJ Ferno’s direction…again.

After a late night of partying in Barcelona, Spain, DJ Jazzy Jeff and crew venture out the next morning for their first ever Segway tour. Quickly becoming a natural, DJ Jazzy Jeff vows to become one with the Segway.

Record Day | Vinyl Destination
DJ Jazzy Jeff and crew set out for another European journey. Before the adventures begins, DJ Jazzy Jeff must keep a 3 pointer tradition going, extending their departure time. Upon arriving in Manchester, the waiting game gets tense while the guys are stuck at the train station without a ride to the hotel. Steve gives some insight to keeping the group one happy family.
Before a stop in Charleroi, Belgium the crew celebrates Record Store Day in Manchester where DJ Jazzy Jeff takes to the streets for some digging. A few finds and a quick trip to Belgium bring them right back to the UK for a show the legendary DJ Premier and Royce Da 5’ 9”, aka Prhyme. After 15 years away from playing vinyl records, the show ends with a 45 set from DJ Jazzy Jeff.

Vision Impossible | Vinyl Destination
Shenanigans at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles leads DJ Jazzy Jeff to the Beyond Wonderland Music Festival in San Bernardino. Along with Z-Trip and the Beat Junkies the collective shut down the festival at the end of the night. This sentimental performance marks the end of an era for DJ Jazzy Jeff as he embarks on a new vision for the future.
After a week of the new change, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the crew hit the road to Portland. In route to the show they run into an issue with transportation. After some negotiating, they are on the their way to test out DJ Jazzy Jeff’s new DJ super hero super powers, along with comedian JB

Dayne Jordan realizes this tour is a bit warmer than he expected as DJ Ferno welcomes the heat before a performance at the Mighty in San Francisco along with Shortkut. Upon the release of Apple’s new iWatch, the guys head to Miami where they take up discussion about the new product. DJ Jazzy Jeff introduces the crew to chicken steak and rice, a Cuban essential.
On the journey home, DJ Jazzy Jeff finds it hard to part ways with Miami and realizes he is headed back to the cold. On the way to a show in Lancaster, PA with fellow Philly native, Cosmo Baker, the guys ride out with Jokin Joe for the trek through Amish land.
Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.
DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's. While being a DJ, he has been teaching music production and the Art of Skateboarding through Maggie Daley's After School Matters. Also known as Gallery 37.
