Gensu Dean | The Art of Digging
The Grand Imperial, Gensu Dean, SP1200 producer, analog equipment junkie, and Mello Music producer, recently took a moment out of his NYC travels to talk about "The Art of Digging." A pure vinyl head, who abides by the Jedi code, Dean still covers labels, doesn't do e-digging, and explains why in this short video clip. It's this ethos, combined with hard knock production, that has garnered Gensu production credits and friendships with Large Professor, David Banner, Brand Nubian, Planet Asia, and even a co-sign from the King, DMC of Run DMC. Most recently Gensu Dean produced the entire album for Mississippi emcee 7evenThirty on a record titled "The Problem."

Saul Williams | Talks Tupac Musical | Ebro In the Morning
Saul Williams Talks Tupac Musical w/ Ebro In the Morning
Holler If Ya Hear Me, the world inside Tupac Shakur’s music and lyrics, blazes to life in a non-biographical story about friendship, family, revenge, change and hope. Inner city lives struggle for peace against the daily challenges they face in this entertaining and original musical. Through the poetry of one of the 20th century’s most influential and culturally prominent voices, we are given a window into realities of the streets still relevant today.

Kool Keith Documentary | Keep It Kool
Kool Keith is a genius. The Ultramagnetic MC’s front-man elevated the artform of lyricism to the highest level through albums like Ultramagnetic MC’s Critical Beatdown and Wild Pitch Records one-off The Four Horsemen. However, along the way, the artist who regularly rhymed about trips to Bellevue Mental Hospital admitted to actual personality disorders, blurring the lines on fictitious raps and brutally honest reality.
Keith interviews, for those that follow the man with personas like Dr. Octagon, Dr. Dooom [sic], the Analog Brother, and the Diesel Trucker, are just as bugged. It is not uncommon for Keith to admit he boasts a car collection in the hundreds, or go on longwinded tangents about his good looks. All of this is an extension of the persona loved by so many Hip-Hop fans (and casual listeners from other genres) since the mid-’80s.
Well, in the new documentary “Keep It Kool,” Mr. Thornton is surprisingly lucid, open, and honest about his life and times. This 30-minute interview, with some show footage mixed in, captures the amazing story behind one of Hip-Hop’s original weirdos, and arguably, one of its absolute lyrical innovators. Watch [him] now:

#TBT Best of Rodney Mullen plus TED TALK
The last thing Rodney Mullen, the godfather of street skating, wanted were competitive victories. In this exuberant talk he shares his love of the open skateboarding community and how the unique environments it plays in drive the creation of new tricks -- fostering prolific ingenuity purely for passion's sake. (Filmed at TEDxUSC.)
Bio:
Known as the godfather of street skating, Rodney Mullen is one of the most prolific and influential skateboarders in history. Despite initial objections, his father eventually gave in and purchased Rodney's first skateboard in 1977, when he was ten years old, on the condition that he would always wear his safety pads and stop skating the moment he was injured. That same year he entered his first contest and came in third; then, over the next three years, he would place first in every contest he entered -- nearly thirty in all. In 1980, after winning the Oasis Pro competition in San Diego, Rodney began his professional skating career with the Powell-Peralta Bones Brigade. He would go on to invent tricks, like the flat-ground ollie, Kicklip, Heelflip, and 360 Flip that would completely revolutionize the art of skating. In 2002, Mullen won the Transworld Readers' Choice Award for Skater of the Year and founded the Almost skateboard company. In 2003, he wrote an autobiography titled The Mutt: How to Skateboard and Not Kill Yourself.
"Rodney Mullen is, for me, hands down the best skater we've got."

Was Punk Rock Born in Peru? | Los Saicos | Trailer
Watch this documentary on Noisey here: http://bit.ly/Los-Saicos
Who invented punk rock? Was it the Ramones in New York? Was it the Sex Pistols in the UK? FALSE! It was Los Saicos in Peru.
One of punk's best kept secrets, Los Saicos were the original Peruvian proto-punks. After storming onto the Peruvian music scene, Los Saicos rocked for only a little over a year, but left a lasting influence on the sound of the sixties and future punk to come.
