The new Amy Winehouse film is coming this summer.
The team behind award-winning documentary Senna have returned with a new through-the-lense look at Amy Winehouse’s life.
Told in the late singer’s own words with extensive unseen archival footage and previously unheard tracks, the documentary is set to tell one of the most tragic stories of the music industry in the 21st century.
The film follows the talented singer from her rise to fame to the personal difficulties she suffered following her problems with addiction that led to her death.
A press release for the film states: “Her huge success, however, resulted in relentless and invasive media attention, which coupled with Amy’s troubled relationships and precarious lifestyle, saw her life tragically begin to unravel.”
Winehouse died from alcohol poisoning in July 2011 at the age of 27.
The singer won five Grammy Awards for her second album Back to Black, which broke records at the time of her death to become the UK’s best-selling album of the 21st century.
AMY will be released in the UK on 3 July.

The "Without You" crooner has unveiled a new song featuring production by WeDidIt's Shlohmo and D33J as well as thestand4rd's Bobby Raps and Psymun, and the song is also under Spooky Black's birth name, Corbin. "Worn" is the first solo Spooky Black/Corbin song we've heard since the release of the Leaving EP back in summer, and may very well end up being the last new song we hear from him before the year ends. Willow Smith — the 14-year-old daughter of Will Smith, Jada Pinkett Smith, and mystical Mother Earth — has been the recent subject of derision. Alongside her brother, Jaden, she waxed philosophic in an interview for T Magazine about paranormal life energies, illusive properties of time, and how much school sucks. The pair were ridiculed for every line. It’s fun to mock New Age aphorisms and it’s fun to mock teens. Feel-good fuzz told with posturing confidence is an irresistible combination to deflate.

Oyinda | Restless
New York based singer/songwriter/producer Oyinda made her official EP debut this week with the release of Before the Fall. “Each song explores the bittersweet aspects of experience. It marks the moment when I realized I had changed,” Oyinda told Billboard. Of the four tracks on the self-produced EP, “Restless” is the only one we hadn’t previously heard, and feels both timeless and vital as it vividly details feelings of anxiety and fear. Amidst rapid drums and thunderous guitars, the 22-year-old observes “Your mind is restless,/You’re feeling anxious,/You’re running rapid into the dark of your eyes.” With imagistic lines and a storm-like production of winding synths and echoes, “Restless” further proves Oyinda is a highly gifted lyricist with a great ear for palpable, darkly vibrant sounds.
