He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.
DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's. While being a DJ, he has been teaching music production and the Art of Skateboarding through Maggie Daley's After School Matters. Also known as Gallery 37.

Each dancer, each place has their own history. Accidents, gun shots, handicaps, misery... thats why this WEB SERIE will promote these dancers and give them motivation because they cannot have the chance to travel in different competitions.

A Bboy Dream Becomes A Reality in The Opening Of The Complex In San Diego
The Complex Team
As of today January 5th, The Complex in conjunction with Undisputed gym will be opening in the beautiful city of San Diego. The Complex is a place that will be catered towards BBoys and Bgirls. We will also have The Complex open for other dance styles so everyone is welcomed to come by and check it out. Having a facility for the local scene has been on my mind for a few years now. Originally my goal was to open a BBoy Spot here in SD. Things didn’t work out to make that possible, but it was worth the shot.
Cros 1, Lancer, Eddie Styles, Eranetik, RawKen, Shyism, El Oso and myself have come together to build and invest in making The Complex become a reality. We all have been a part of the scene for many years, so we feel that it is our duty to create something for our scene. By us, for us, we welcome everyone from beginners to veterans.

On Sunday, October 12, 2014, from 12-6pm, hundreds of cars will grace the Navy Pier, causing one heck of a windstorm. The hottest cars and kicks from in and around the Chicago area will be on display, truly bringing you the “Best of the best”. You can expect to see some of the most influential people within the scene present, as well as the likes of official NUROTAG hostess and fitness Mega Model, Nicole Mejia, a special guest DJ and a display of some of the freshest kicks around for the #SHOWUSYOURKICKS showcase. Also, the NUROTAG team will be hosting an official “Models Lounge”, where you can catch some of your favorite models signing photographs, as well as taking pictures with fans.
NUROTAG prides itself on bringing you more than just a car show, but a show that also incorporates aspects of the lifestyle that surrounds the scene. Those things being the hottest fashions, Art, and games. With that being said, for the Chicago edition of NUROTAG, there will be a graffiti artist expo, underground apparel and a full video game experience.
It’s time to get those kicks out the vault and time to get your cars washed, polished and waxed because we’re coming for you, Chicago!! Be prepared to witness it all at NUROTAG

Each B-Boy will need to demonstrate his best skills, rhythm and creativity impress the panel of judges, RoxRite (Red Bull BC One All-Star and 2011 Red Bull BC One World Champion), Neguin (Red Bull BC One All Star and 2010 Red Bull BC One World Champion) and Marlon (Havikoro Crew, Texas).
Red Bull BC One is the one-on-one B-Boy World Championship. 2014 marked a record year for Red Bull BC One, with more than 1,500 B-Boys competing across the globe in over 90 Cyphers to earn their spot in one of the upcoming finals. From Azerbaijan to Ukraine, up-and-coming B-Boys and veterans alike battled for a chance to represent their country in the next round.
Red Bull BC One Finals will take place in North America, South America, Eastern Europe, Middle East Africa, Western Europe and Asia Pacific regions. The winners of the Finals will compete alongside 10 Wildcards on the global stage in Paris,France on November 29 at the Red Bull BC One France World Final 2014. The “City of Lights” first hosted the event in 2008, when Red Bull BC One All Star Wing took home the world championship.
All events will be livestreamed on www.redbullbcone.com. The first Red Bull BC One Final will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 15, at the Brooklyn Bowl. North America’s best B-Boys will battle it out on the renowned stage where some of today’s top Hip Hop artists have performed, including N.E.R.D., Snoop Dogg and Kanye West The Latin America Final will be held on August 30 at the Parque dos Igarapés in Belém, Brazil. This ecological park will provide an exciting natural backdrop for South America’s best B-Boys to compete.
On September 13, the Z.T.D. Hrvatski Sokol will host the Eastern Europe Final in Zagreb, Croatia. This heart of this sports center and gymnastics school perfectly mirrors the acrobatics of the region’s top B-Boys. Middle East Africa will welcome B-Boys on September 26 at the National Theatre Algeria (TNA), a cultural and educational center, which today is home to the Algerian National Ballet.
On October 11, Western Europe’s top B-Boys will go head-to-head at the Vanha Ylioppilastalo in Helsinki, Finland, a 140-year-old building originally designed as a meeting place for students. And the season concludes at the National Palace Museum in Taipei, Taiwan on October 25. The National Palace Museum, consistently rated as one of the world’s best museums, represents Taiwan’s evolution, with artifacts and antiquities representing more than 1,000 years of culture, heritage and tradition. It will be the first time an event of this type and magnitude will be hosted there.

The competition has since traveled to Berlin, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Paris, New York City, Tokyo, Moscow and Rio de Janeiro. Last year, millions of people tuned in around the world to watch the showdown in Seoul, South Korea, where Red Bull BC One All Star Hong 10 took home his second championship belt.

Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.
DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's. While being a DJ, he has been teaching music production and the Art of Skateboarding through Maggie Daley's After School Matters. Also known as Gallery 37.

The Curators ft Dee-1 | Tallahassee Tour
On the 3rd stop of the tour, we visited Tallahassee, FL to make an appearance at Florida State University.
There, we hosted 3 days of events.
Day 1 was a free community event and book drive.
Day 2 was the concert with film's featured artist Dee-1.
Day 3 was the screening of "The Curators Volume 1: A Story of Independence".

DJ Quantum x Strife | Monthly Mixtape Series
Khoi Quan aka DJ Quantum, is a world-traveling artist and performer based out of San Francisco Bay Area. He has been energizing street dance events, night clubs, and global venues since 1997. Having had an affinity to b-boying at an early age Quantum took his understanding of deep grooves and funky breaks and applied that same dance aesthetic towards his skills on the "ones and twos". From making breakbeat mixes to playing at late night studio sessions for dancers, Quantum's humble beginnings help lead him towards a career beyond San Jose for sharing his vision of the global beat.
His diverse selection in music and eclectic style of mixing and scratching has landed him an array of gigs, and he has shared the stage opening up for artists such as EPMD, Crazy Legs, D-Styles,The Bangerz, Zion I, Skeme Richards, and Dj Q-Bert just to name a few.
