Michael Uzowuru ft. Vic Mensa & Donnie Trumpet | April 13th
Out of nowhere, producer Michael Uzowuru has shared the full version of “April 13th,” after teasing the track over a year ago. Recorded in Los Angeles, the song features young Chicago duo Vic Mensa and Donnie Trumpet, who formerly played together as Kid These Days, keeping the vocals soft above a sweet electric guitar, piano, trumpet and complimenting drums. If you feel like treating today like a Sunday, this one’s for you.

Saba | Kentucky | DJBooth Freestyle Series, #36 | Download
Oft imitated but never equaled, the DJBooth Freestyle Series ran from February 2009 through June 2011. Its 250 total entries were the work of a veritable who’s-who of underground and emerging emcees, including rising stars like Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Now, it’s back for a second round.
The 36th entry in the relaunched series comes courtesy of Saba, the Chi-Town native and Pivot Gang member who recently unleashed the (very dope) visual accompaniment to mixtape single “Burnout.” On Kentucky, the unsigned buzzmaker flexes his lyrical muscles over an original, self-produced instrumental. Fred Lozano provides original artwork to accompany the freestyle.
Saba has yet to announce any forthcoming projects but, if Kentucky‘s piqued your interest, you can hear more on the emcee/producer’s #ComfortZone street album, out now online.

L’Orange ft Red Pill | Entering The Silence
In the aftermath of L'Orange's 2014 album The Orchid Days, the After The Flowers EP is a warm vignette- a glimpse into life after the end of the world. Waking up to a surreal heavenscape, our tragic figure searches for his place somewhere between life and death.
Expanding on the themes of love and loss, L'Orange teams up with artists Chuck Inglish, Meyhem Lauren, Red Pill and producer Amerigo Gazaway to bring us a stream of consciousness epilogue to his 2014 album The Orchid Days.

Mick Jenkins | Lazarus | Prod. By Chuck Strangers
Mick Jenkins flows over production from Pro Era's Chuck Strangers on "Lazarus."
It looks like Mick Jenkins is almost ready to drop off his long-awaited follow up to his debut Trees And Truths. The Water[s] has been teased ever since Mick delivered "Martyrs" in December, and today, an official tracklist, cover art, and a release date have been let go, along with this new cut, "Lazarus."
Mick Jenkins' gritty voice and sharp words contrast the mellow production from Strangers on "Lazarus." All I can say is, homie, you better put on that thinking cap before hitting play.
The Water[s] is set to feature Jean Deaux, NoName Gypsy and Ebony, with production mainly coming from frequent collaborator OnGaud, as well as looks from DJ Dahi, Statik Selektah, High Klassified and more. It's dropping August 12th.
Full tracklist:
01. ShipWrecked (Prod. by ThemPeople)
02. Die For T.H.C (Prod. by T.H.C)
03. The Waters (Prod. by High Klassified & Da P)
04. Healer (feat. Jean Deaux) (Prod. by Dream Koala & OnGaud)
05. Comfortable (feat. NoName Gypsy) (Prod. by Cam from Justice League)
06. Vibe (Prod. by OnGaud)
07. Jazz (Prod. by OnGaud)
08. You Knew (Prod. by DJ Dahi)
09. Canada Dry (Prod. by J Money)
10. Drink More Water (feat. Ebony) (Prod. by SpaceTime)
11. Black Sheep (Prod. by Statik Selektah)
12. Puddles (Prod. by DJ Dahi)

"AMERICA'S LARGEST HIP HOP FESTIVAL" Emcee Battle+DJ Battle+B-Boy Battle+Beatbox Battle+Graffiti Expo+50 Live Performances!!!
The original organizers of America’s largest hip-hop festival need your help to bring back an event that showcased real artists performing music, breakers, and art for thirteen consecutive years.
In order to be an authentic voice for the hip hop culture, festival organizers have repeatedly declined corporate sponsorships—we didn’t want to sell out the artists and fans we were putting on the show to celebrate. Five years ago we had to make the difficult decision that the event could no longer sustain itself via ticket sales alone.
Along came Kickstarter: the perfect forum for us to connect with the grassroots supporters who never wanted us to sell out their favorite artists to the highest bidder, but also didn’t want to pay sky-high ticket prices. We need the support of the people who lived it or wished they’d been around to experience the magic firsthand—the people who helped us put on thirteen consecutive festivals filled to capacity with breakers, MC’s, DJ’s, beat-boxers, and graffiti artists from around the world—YOU are the people we are asking to help.
