Noisey Presents | Atlanta | Welcome To The Trap
After exploring the impoverished neighborhoods of Chicago, Noisey is set to bring the world into the underworld of Atlanta. Starring familiar rap faces like Gucci Mane, 2 Chainz, Future, Migos, Young Thug, Trinidad James, Rich Homie Quan, Young Scooter, Waka Flocka, PeeWee Longway and more, Noisey gives us an uncensored tour of the ATL slums. With a focus on the drugs, trap houses, gangs, problems, and solutions behind one of hip-hop’s most successful states in recent years, Noisey aims to shed light on the community’s harsh realities.
Watch part 1
Noisey:
“When a rapper’s rapping, you should be able to smell the dope cooking.”
In the first episode of our new 10-part series on Atlanta, host Thomas Morton meets longtime stick-up boy Curtis Snow (Snow On Da Bluff) while explaining what Atlanta means and why it’s become the center of drug trafficking and rap music. Later, we find ourselves in iconic Patchwerk Studios with Black Mafia Family’s Bleu Davinci. He explains the rise and fall of BMF, the city’s scene over the last decade, and what he thinks it takes to make it today. After a game of pool, we head to the strip club to meet Migos.

Sa-Roc | Shadows Approaching | Prod. Sol Messiah
New Sa-Roc on The Sol Messiah: Legend (Mixtape)
What im gon do now? I'm 5 foot 3 and 132 pounds. size 6 frame, with a legendary name, trying to live up to the honor with a few raps and a cute smile.
But that don't last forever.
This could be my last letter, so I write it with blood and sweat so it last better.
They wanna wipe me from the books cuz I'm plot heavy, but they won't give me 2nd looks less I'm top heavy.
Let me talk to you, my daddy sharecropped tobacco age 6 fore he learned to even walk proper.
You want some real spit? What you know about watching your father numb so he wouldn't have to feel shit?
Real quick out the room before the tears hit.
Clutching pipe dreams to my chest like a meal ticket.
And as much as I'd like to think it we aint much different, 30 years apart but the cops think we just niggas.
But let me slow down fore attention span go down, Gucci, Bugatti, fat bootys, illuminati.
Now, am I allowed to finish? Youngins lying in a pool of that red sauce all in the name of spinach.
Noodle all on the sidewalk, like an Italian dinner. But y'all don't wanna hear it.
Y'all tone deaf til I start talking c notes then y'all ninjas Bob Dylan.
Street poets, writing poems for the muh effing highest bidder.
Yeah I'm kinda bitter. You want a sweetheart, just stop making the street hard, then you won't get this sour lemon.
I'm feeling out of place in the places that I invented.
Feeling stifled, so I'm venting. Ear conditioning, pun intended.
I may be cut from a different cloth, but we all kindred. Formerly good kids in a mad city, call kendrick.
This high power coming from out the Nile River. Rap pharoah from the hells of the district, the sound killer.

SA-ROC | DC X ATLIENS | Produced by Organized Noize
"My introduction is too much pressure for your brain.
The opening lines be like dark clouds and flooding rain.
But sharp mouths get to the heart of the matter, the beat is gon keep you moving the lyrics will help sustain.
my body of work is black girl thickening, ripe like a peach just right for the picking.
And ready to serve it to the world on a silver platter.
But real talk, my ill talk, will get your ego shattered.
Im paddling behinds like the kinds that pappy gave.
Hiphop classic...kinda like a nappy fade.
But these days class is suffering thru a ratchet phase.
giving out degrees to bottom feeders and scholastic failures, money never made us, but now it tell us go.
Green lighting suckas like the legend and 3 stacks show.
Relax, open up your mind.
My rap flow spark electric charges to inspire when your nerve synapse slow.
Im making ghosts, not the kind to make a mommy grieve.
Just preying on my competition, thinning out a dying breed.
No I in we, but the US got their eye on me.
Cuz I be hollering peace but I mean the kind for firing.
I am the daughter of royalty on some queen shit, roots are lain in foreign soil, on some Ben Vereen shit.
ninjas chicken george sipping lean while children bleed.
On lonely streets where no one cares about their color scheme.
When others dream freedom's screams keep me up at night.
Conceal my private pain, while y'all reveal your public hype.
Making moves controlled by string holders like a puppet might.
I cover life through my microphone, a quill and scroll, and hieroglyph the world with pictures from my feeling soul!" - Sa-Roc

A-Trak x Lex Luger | Low Pros | EP1
Fool's Gold captain and DJ icon A-Trak kicked off 2014 by dropping some of the most exciting and unexpected collaborations in music, from the highly anticipated Federal Reserve project with Cam'ron to Duck Sauce's acclaimed album Quack. Yet his boldest team up to date may just be Low Pros, a bass extravaganza helmed by Trizzy and Lex Luger, the elusive producer behind genre-defining tracks for Waka Flocka, Juicy J, Rick Ross & more.
The two linked in Atlanta for non-stop recording sessions with fellow producers Metro Boomin (Future, YG), Brillz and High Klassified (Fool's Gold), enlisting everyone from new-school superstar Young Thug to dirty south legend Juvenile to add their magic to the mix. The resulting EP takes the trap sound Lex literally invented into outer space, raising the bar for hip-hop and electronic productions alike.
