The Boondocks | Season 4 Trailer

After a four-year hiatus, The Boondocks is headed back to television on April 21st.

Adult Swim released the trailer for season four of Aaron McGruder’s animated program about the Freeman family and the other residents of Woodcrest.



Huey, Riley, Granddad, and the rest of the characters get set to return to the small screen on April 21st, Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder has also teamed with Adult Swim for a brand new series.

Adult Swim announced that Boondocks creator McGruder’s live-action comedy Black Jesus has been greenlit. The show will star Gerald “Slink” Johnson as Black Jesus. The Boondocks regulars Charlie Murphy and John Witherspoon are also part of the cast. The Cleveland Show’s Corey Holcomb has signed on as well.

Production for Black Jesus has already begun in Los Angeles, California. The show is scheduled to debut later this year. McGruder previously tackled the topic of Jesus being black on The Boondocks episode “A Huey Freeman Christmas.”
