Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.
DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's. While being a DJ, he has been teaching music production and the Art of Skateboarding through Maggie Daley's After School Matters. Also known as Gallery 37.

The Leaders of MC Battle Culture are back with the fourth installment of their ever popular NOME event; taking place at New York City's Irving Plaza on Saturday June 7th. The night has some of URL's biggest stars such as T-Rex, Ill Will, Charlie Clips, DNA, Ayeverb, Goodz, Cortez, Ms Hustle, Gatta, Tay Roc, John John Da Don, B Magic , Big T and the long awaited return of Reed Dollaz.

Killaz Battle League: Math Hoffa & T-Rex Talk Battling on Hot97
The historical first ever VladTV Killaz Battle League event is going down on May 11th, and leading up to the epic day in battle rap history, Math Hoffa, T-Rex and DJ Vlad stopped by Hot 97 and chopped it up with Peter Rosenberg and Cipha Sounds about their battle and battling in general. During the interview, Math teamed up with Cipha Sounds and Rex linked up with Rosenberg for a brief on the spot freestyle battle.
This event is going to be huge!
The Killaz Battle event will take place on May 11th at Club Element located at 225 E. Houston St, NYC.
Doors to the event will open at 3pm. If you'd like to purchase tickets prior to the day of the event, visit http://vladtv.eventbrite.com/. They're on sale for $30 if you buy them prior to the battle. Tickets are $40 if you'd like to purchase them at the door. It is a 21-and-over event only so ID is a MUST.
The under-card will feature a battle between Bigg K vs Shotgun Suge and Hanz vs Iron Sheikh. Also on the card will be performances from Styles P and Loaded Lux.
