Yesterday, Chicago-born DJ and turntablist Chris Brown (not to be confused with the singer) was selected to compete in the 2015 Red Bull Thre3style competition. Today, we’re happy to share the latest episode of DJcity TV’s “Bedroom Sessions” series, which features a seven-minute mix from him. Watch above as Chris throws down a variety of tracks with scratching, juggling and tone play sprinkled in.
DJcity recognizes there’s a ton of dope DJs from around the world who deserve more shine. To showcase their talent, we created a series called “Bedroom Sessions” that features folks throwing down sets in their homes. DJ Chris Brown | Bedroom Sessions XIV

Shon Roka (pronounced Shaun Roca) the DJ also known as Shaun Ortega was born on the west-side of Chicago. He started gaining fame as a bboy in 1991 and later became a member of a well known crew called the BRICKHEADZ. He would perform for such artist and events such as The Roots, KRS One, Immortal Technique, Dougie Fresh, Common, Rhymefest, Cypress Hill, Pharoah Monch, Nas, Diddy, Mariah Carey, Taste of Chicago, Lollapolooza, Looptopia, B96 Summer Bash just to name a few. The BRICKHEADZ also won many breakin' competition nationally and internationally. While Shon Roka was being active as a bboy he was working on his craft of being a DJ.
DJing for w/ Nike, Jordan, Under Armour, Adidas, Vans, Uprise (Chicago) Skateshop for numerous in-stores, sporting events, galleries and corporate outings. Also Shon Roka is a resident DJ post Covid in Chicago at McGee's, Tantrum, Imbibe and Harbee's. While being a DJ, he has been teaching music production and the Art of Skateboarding through Maggie Daley's After School Matters. Also known as Gallery 37.

Mac Miller aka Larry Fisherman | Rhythm Roulette
On this episode of Rhythm Roulette we have Mac Miller aka Larry Fisherman. Traveling out to LA, we headed over to Record Surplus where Mac went into the Jazz selection and got his fingers dusty.
Heading back to his studio, Mac quickly sifted through the three records and began crafting the skeleton of the beat before finishing the production by playing keys and guitar over the track. If you're still sleeping on Mac as a producer, check out his beat tape Run on Sentences Vol.1.
