I'm happy to finally close the chapter on this project. Thank you all for supporting me this far, it has been a journey and this is just the beginning of it all. It's crazy because I knew this project would change my life, I just felt it more and more after each song. Can't wait to show you how much I've grown since last year. Tidal Graves is next. - Khary

With Grammy Awards already under his belt already, Rahki is one of Top Dawg Entertainment's most trusted producers. The Minneapolis-born producer was the man behind "i," one of K-Dot's biggest singles, for which he sampled a '70s Isley Brother's track, "That Lady." Besides making beats for other members of TDE such as Ab-Soul, Rahki has produced for Eminem, 50 Cent, Travis $cott and more.
Rahki's ear for samples is so good, MASS APPEAL had to put him to the test in our latest episode of Rhythm Roulette. We met up with Rahki at Ameoba Music in L.A. where he tied on the blindfold and picked three records from the shop's clearance section. His picks were random as hell, including a chorus recording, orchestral music, and one album whose cover gave him "Illuminati type of vibes."
It seems those left-field selections posed just a small challenge for the talented beat-maker. What he came out with in the end is a banger. Check out Rahki at work in our latest Rhythm Roulette video above.

On the latest episode of Rhythm Roulette, Daringer braves the bins at NYC’s Academy Records to blindly pull three records at random and test his production skills. Best known for his work with Buffalo MCs–and recent Shady Records signees–Westside Gunn and Conway, Griselda Records’ in-house producer didn’t flinch when faced with the folk and disco selects. Instead, he calmly sparked one and, with blunt in hand plus a special guest MC in the booth, cut another wavy gem.
Once again the party people of Minnesota descended upon the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in Minneapolis for the annual Soundset weekend. Hosted by the amazing team from Rhymesayers Entertainment, the 2017 Soundset event was the tenth anniversary of the independent Hip Hop festival, and the show they put on did not disappoint.
Over 35,000 attendees hit the festival, with a solid line-up of Hip Hop acts gracing the stage. As always, the Ironlak Live Paint was in effect, with the A-team of rap sprayers on hand to give an array of surfaces a fresh lick of paint. From custom shaped IRONLAK/ SOUNDSET panels, to trucks – no surface was safe from the fury of the Ironlak and Sugar Artists’ Acrylic spray paint.
“EWOK, MAST, RIVER, WANE, Carly Ealey, SEB, ERGOT, MUCH, NMPH, Wezz Winship, and I made sure Christmas came a good six months early – smack in the middle of the Twin City’s summer heat wave – blessing all the good children of Soundset with gifts of spray gold, and reminding the bad kids out there that despite their misgivings, Soundset was meant for the bad kid in all of us – not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good!” –JURNE HM TGE YME
Ironlak spray paint is available at Fifth Element – 2411 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55405, USA fifthelementonline.com
Shop online: Yard Master Classics, Kolour, & Sugar Artists’ Acrylic spray paint is available at great prices on shop.ironlak.com – $10 flat rate shipping (ships domestic USA only)

"After the close of the Own Light tour with Brother Ali, I'm still reeling from the beautiful energy I experienced on the road. It makes sense then, to share some of the highlights from one of the best moments of the tour, Soundset 2017. Always a dizzying spectacle of both auditory and visual treasures, this year's festival did not disappoint, with dope emcees, djs, graffiti artists, and exuberant fans flooding the fairgrounds. This video comes as close as possible to capturing the excitement and wonder I felt as I navigated through some of the festival's more incredible moments. As I get back into the studio to finish recording my debut album with Rhymesayers, I feel confident that all the love, inspiration, and energy that I've received in the last month will lend itself well towards creating something really special." - Sa-Roc
